Agreed 100% on showing definitive opposition. But disagree that impeachment votes are effective or meaningful if conviction is 100% guaranteed to fail. There are more effective ways to oppose.

Why do the one guaranteed to fail then. You talk about fighting fascism but since it does nothing to affect him how does it fight? It doesn’t change the needle.

An impeachment effort guaranteed to fail is expending energy. They should be filing lawsuits left and right, actively mobilizing their constituencies, especially in overall red states to flood statehouses, etc. The people are an effective weapon in these situations, that’s what they should be doing

There are more effective ways to act against fascism than a vote that accomplishes nothing. I’m not saying don’t fight. I’m saying fight effectively. Otherwise it’s wasted energy in a fight where we cannot afford to waste energy

It’s the wrong time to do it. Impeachment serves no purpose if you can’t convict in the Senate and it is guaranteed to not happen in the Senate. I get the frustration but doing actions just to do them when they’re guaranteed of failure is not a winning or purposeful strategy

And yet she is still one of the most successful and impactful disco performers. Not to mention how her song I Am What I Am also becoming an lgbtq anthem. I have zero issue with her being up there, along with the rest of this year’s honors.

Nah, Kiss is a hugely influential rock band and Gaynor has one of the best selling songs of all time with I will survive. All of them deserve to be there.
