Passionate trans ally. Proud to be a Derby County fan, an educator, a cricket lover, a dad of 2 amazing kids, an ally to all LGBT+ people, a music lover, a concert goer and a grumpy old git. Also single, but not a great catch.

Non disabled people can’t understand the unrelenting monotony of chronic illness.

The soul crushing defeat that comes from knowing you won’t feel “better” the next day.

The exhaustion that comes from fighting an oppressive system of ableism for the smallest amount of dignity & decency.

I wondered about political interference in the UK Supreme Court, and learned this:

In the UK, Supreme Court justices are appointed by the King (or Queen) on the advice of the Prime Minister,

OK, there's guidance before selection, but ...
No doubt the decision to exclude trans people was managed.

As a school Governor, I'm complaining about their 'British Values'. These are political, and reflect political opinion, not human rights. If your school follows 'British Values', complain. Tell them about the UN Declaration of Human Rights. www.un.org/en/about-us/...
Universal Declaration of Human Rights | United Nations
A milestone document in the history of human rights, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights set out, for the first time, fundamental human rights to be universally protected. It has been translated...

My MP said this in a letter:
'I would like to echo the words of the Government and the Supreme Court: this case is not about the triumph of one group at the expense of another.'
So, why did one side drink champagne and smoke cigars, while the other wants to leave the country?

Yesterday, and Saturday i spoke about human rights. The right to 'liberty' and 'security of person'. (UN Declaration of Human Rights). Trans people are being denied these rights in the UK - as they are denied healthcare by those who preach 'universal healthcare'. UK Govt = Human rights abusers.

Interesting one this morning. Visiting school in my role as a Governor, looking for evidence of diversity and inclusion. Things change when a Trust takes over, and I've a pretty good idea what I'll find - just a matter of recording evidence.
