Related to my previous post, my resting not-abiding-any-nonsense face was inherited directly from my father & I have now passed it on to a couple of kids. #RestingFAFOFace

Leaving T/X and ghosting FB/IG means that I don't really have a place to brag about my fitness accomplishments anymore. Would you indulge me to celebrate my 1300th class at Orangetheory Fitness?

Our favorite thing about snow days in VA is meeting fellow Canadians & Coloradans (& Michiganders & Minnesotans etc) just going about their days while most things shut down. We picked up treats at Praha then we took the kiddos sledding at Mint Springs. ❤️❄️❤️

Some of the photos are candidates for the book so I won't share here. But this one of a little window behind the former altar struck me this AM. Something present & absent. Something already & not yet. Something like Chicanos longing for this place while still caring for it & studying in it.

I hope Guadalupanos enjoyed a blessed feast day! Here's a painting by my favorite Chicano artist & legendary Denver Westsider, Carlos Fresquez. At once a reminder of Guadalupe's presence in unexpected places & of Advent's anticipatory journey. I ❤️ Carlos's interpretation of Denver's skyline, too!

Here’s one more with Todd & Tyler, both of whom are cool dudes and legendary coaches. (And, in Charlottesville style, Tyler & I have kids in the same class)

Swimming Twitter is even less on Bluesky than some other sports but I have to shout out the UVA swimmers currently annihilating SCM world records in Budapest! Here I am in October with Kate Douglass, Gretchen Walsh, & their Olympic gold medals!

I made pilgrimage to the Sandra Bland mural in Boulder, CO. I have been writing about the #SprayTheirNames murals created in 2020 in my current book project (see also my JSCE work on them). But this was an act of Advent prayer of confession, repentance, & peace. Photo by Lynnette Li.
