I spent a few days at Milwaukee’s @vargallery.bsky.social last week making a neon sign of the word “home”. This fits on a shelf my parents built out of leftover wood from the construction of their new neighborhood out of state, as a reminder of the people who are my home even if they aren’t here.

Like, shut it down for 7 days, everyone gets $500/day for the hassle. That’s $623m, less than a quarter of the project. Feels like you could save a lot of pennies if you shave *7 years* off a project 🤷

Continuing to try to figure out the entire layout of my goofy house and I keep coming back to the conclusion that the couches need to go in the dining room, the table needs to go in the living room, and that this would all be easier if I cut a hole in the floor to make a conversation pit.

This paragraph feels like an understated way to explain that the county board exactly voted for this senior center to close, but I don’t know how else you describe it. It’s incredibly unfortunate that so many people asked the board for this outcome because now they’re disappointed by getting it :/

It’s happening! The faded bike lane on Hawley is getting repainted so that we can safely ride over to the barrier protected bike lane. Truly a special event as the sign promises, shout out to @kevinmuhs.bsky.social and co for getting this on the calendar.

One the one hand when I drove to Brookfield yesterday for an appointment I was astonished to see eastbound traffic backed up to about state fair.
On the other hand, there was a crash and lane closure and people were, as always, disregarding the “use all lanes during backups” sign, so who’s to say
