Clearly the 4-Nations Face-Off tournament occurred at a pivotal time in US/Canada relations. The only comparison being the 1972 Summit Series between Canada and the USSR. Another best-against-best int. hockey tournament where two clashing worldviews met on the ice to settle political tensions.
