It is all about the money. Public transport in Galway needs to be funded - Greens achieved a commitment to 2/3 of transport being spent on public/active travel, but gone by the by in current government.

Last week the State of Europe’s Environment report criticised the poor quality of Ireland’s natural waters and has said that Ireland’s food systems “need urgent transformational change”. This will be no surprise to anyone who has read
@thinkorswim.bsky.social 's “The Lie of the Land”. 1/6

Last nights RTE report featured the weather from Galway. It reminded me of my own appearance on Virgin Media News a few years ago during a similar storm. Both reports contained no reference to what might be causing so many storms. Disgraceful reporting. 1/2

The Galway #climateinspirations festival had some great talks at the Druid, but we also ended up having a talk on home retrofits while standing in a poly tunnel in Westside Community Gardens. Mad stuff !

EU legislation to oblige Data Centres to report their energy use by May 15 every year was passed at EU level in 2023. But the government has been dragging its heals on transposing that legislation into Irish law. It will not be in place by 15 May 2025 ( next Thursday) 1/2
