I have very fond memories of pushing the printer in my Dad's office to its absolute limit in a bid to make sure our first edition of "Endeavour", the school newspaper, made it out.
Today I begin my new role as News Editor with Highland News & Media.

I chose this photo for the front cover of the Football Observer as it’s probably the best solo “action” shot I’ve taken this year. Nothing remarkable about it, but it completes captures Saints captain Jamie’s playing style.

This may not mean much to most, but the idea behind the Football Observer is to create something of an homage to the Almanacco Illustrato del Calcio books which profiled Serie A/B players back in the day. I hope to provide the same depth with five-year career histories for all involved this season.

Back by (semi) popular demand. After a break, I've decided to bite the bullet on a new five-year statistical/encyclopaedic look at footballers playing across the north. A deep dive into the developing careers of those in the senior game across the North pyramid. footballtimes.co.uk/product/the-...

A close up of the Football Times Cup, which I presented to the winning captain today. It was first played for 100 years ago this year - after it was donated to the league by Highland News, who ran the Football Times as a Saturday evening newspaper during the early 20th century.

Mucking about with ChatGPT on a research project and it outright lied to me instead of saying it didn’t know the answer. In the words of Charlie Mulgrew - “You’ve made that up.”

Couldn’t make it up! A fantastic win for St Duthus thanks to a penalty after 70+ minutes of 0-0. And then Jim Goodwin follows the same script at Tannadice. Two big wins for two top teams. Love it! 😀

So sad to hear about Dumbarton’s plight. A club so close to my heart, with family entrenched in it, and several friends who have put their heart and soul into the Sons. Fingers crossed they come out the other side.
