Most senior officers are highly educated. They may be conservative, while not necessarily being MAGA. They can separate the bullshit out of the news. Most enlisted military are not highly educated, and they don’t make a career of the military. It’s harder for them to see the scam for what it is.

Over the last generation? Hundreds. I’ve seen the shift from fairly apolitical, professional military personnel to a surprisingly hard right politically focused force.

We should all be very concerned about the deployment of the military, as part of police actions. That’s not normally their role and they don’t get any new training on how to handle pissed off civilians.

Fox has been on most TV’s in most American military offices since 9/11. To be fair, they did a great job of staying with that story, keeping the coverage from getting slanted early on. Once they were imbedded in the everyday consciousness of people in offices, they have been leaning HARD right.

Agreed, and there will be some soldiers who make that choice. What I’m saying is, don’t depend on a majority of enlisted personnel to defy orders against harming civilians. The majority are MAGA. They will shoot fellow Americans, if ordered to.

No, not at all. If you came to pick fights, go back X and stay there. What I meant was, in general terms, most people don’t get too terribly pissed off, until their Ox gets gored. When that happens, that get really interested, really fast, and it doesn’t matter who did it to them.

That’s true. I agree. I would also offer that the same would be true about any policies that anyone implemented that impacted an individual adversely, not just Trump. Typically, we shrug until we feel the impact personally, and then we are indignant.
