Moldova can buy electricity from Romania, but the transfer is by Ukraine. If electricity network is bombed in Ukraine, Moldova can’t import electricity from Romania(EU), see map below. I wanted to point out in my reply that the problem is not only about gas, but also (maybe more) about electricity.

The problem for Moldova is that electricity plant in Transnistria supplies electricity to Moldova, the plant itself was(is) using gas. Moldova has poor network to be supplied by Romania, and can get only electricity from Ukraine. First interconnexion with Romania should be finished by end of 2025.

IMHO, seem more like a reaction to the air attack. Pretty sure they said to Putin not to strike energy infrastructure, otherwise, they will allow to strike deep in Russian territory.

The Russians will fly over a farm, waiting for a farmer to come gather their cows, and then attack them attempting to kill as many as they can.
