the original release is available on every modern non-nintendo platform and regularly goes on $10 and even $5 sales on PC. 10/10 game.

The only things the DC version brings are new retcons, cutscenes that ruin important moments, an English dub, and a forgettable multiplayer mode. It's a cash grab.

Last tidbit, I do think as it grows Mycopunk will fill that niche. Amazing little early access indie game with really good progression systems, solid gunplay, and spectacular movement

tldr give me a pve social team-based FPS with a high skill ceiling, intricate mechanics that require the entire team to be on point, and challenging combat at the same time

I haven't played that game in about a year now and don't plan on going back, but last I played survivability was literally a non-issue, so while raid mechanics were still superb (the last raid they released before I quit was the best they've ever done), the combat is basically nonexistent.

Destiny 2 used to scratch a very specific itch but fell off hard, and while other games do what it does but better these days, there's not really an equivalent FPS, live service or not. Specifically the earlier raids and older non-power-crept sandbox, forcing *all* teammates to execute well.

I saw the in-game notification and was like "oh neat they're updating the companion app" (since it is a bit lackluster and clunky).

Then I read the article and NOPE it's the full game client. Apparently it's already out on iOS too?
