QB purgatory is real. Momentum is not.
Dragging this over receipts from the other app…

For a while now I’ve been pointing out Rodgers is probably homeless to start the season. He’s still a top 15 QB but he’s not what he used to be physically and he now has SO much baggage/drama. Teams are barely interested.

For anyone not paying attention, the demise of the Seahawks has long been coming. Jody Allen, sister of the late Paul Allen, has been running the Seahawks since her brother’s passing. She thinks she’s doing a great job. Slow erosion over time that is continuing.

I have constantly and consistently emphasized the importance of OCs as being AS important as the HC.

This picture, taken 2 years ago, is a great example of why.

This is an old chart but an important one. How often each team achieves a new down on each down. If more teams thought this way, the 1st and 2nd down portions would stretch further right, indicating more 1st downs achieved on those downs. This automatically bumps total drive conversion rate way up.

Been a busy time. Added a player to the roster 17 days earlier than expected. Baby Camden came at 9:30 this morning. Mom and baby are doing well.

If you play recency bias and eliminate the first 4 weeks of the year, the Eagles and Lions are very close. And the Ravens are actually way closer than I thought to the Bills.

Bill Parcells’ QB criteria was really smart. I underestimated the “time” criteria because I looked at the talent more than anything else. But the reality is that NFL QBs get a very short leash. That experience gave those QBs a much higher chance at sticking around long enough to figure out the NFL.

Drew Lock’s incentives in his contract. But hey, “We just want to get a look at the young gun/other kid!”

Schoen had the right philosophy in letting Saquon walk, it’s just unfortunate he went to a division rival with a good OL. If he hadn’t extended Daniel Jones (which may not have been his call), the NYG might look very different.

Reminder: Being great in this league isn’t about how high your ceiling is. It’s about hitting your ceiling consistently over a long period of time.
