None of it's direct but if you follow the money as it moves in a year more of it made it's way back to the US Government than was spent because of the initial expenditure!
November 21, 2025 at 11:57 PM
Yes it is true! You think the US government was doing it as an net expense? It wasn't! There's reems of studies showing it made the US money to do foreign aid because it made the US buyer of constant resort for food and pharma industries!
November 21, 2025 at 11:56 PM
The US did it because it's literally free money. But only for the first mover. With the US out of the game someone can corner the underserved market and print money out of thin air!
November 21, 2025 at 11:50 PM
But it wouldn't wreck them! It would stabilize them! They would have consistent stable demand with good prices on a cheaper to grow crop that's not going on the global market but to people excluded from the global market due to misallocated monetary supply!
November 21, 2025 at 11:48 PM
There is no reason at all that it's also not profitable for Europe to do the same! You have the land, and you have the money, because it makes more money than it costs because of the efficiencies of scale from such large purchases and constant consistent demand!
November 21, 2025 at 11:45 PM
No! It is profitable! That's the point! You keep saying it isn't but it is! The US Government lost money by not spending on US aid because the economic impacts of the expenditure is more than the cost! It's actually free money to pay people to grow food and give it away because of the scale!
November 21, 2025 at 11:43 PM
It doesn't matter who eats it, it just has to be bought! This is something governments have know for generations now! You can actually spend your way to a better place, so long as people don't freak out on the spending!
November 21, 2025 at 11:41 PM
That's why the government buys it! But it doesn't actually cost the tax payer anything because economies of scale make the bulk purchases cheaper than businesses! And the extra money flowing through the economy makes up the initial expenditure when it gets spent!
November 21, 2025 at 11:39 PM
The demand is there, that's why there's a need for aid! It's literally all political! People the world over are just fucking themselves over because they want to settle scores and be bigots more than they want money! It's not confined to the US! Never has been!
November 21, 2025 at 11:36 PM
No it wouldn't! No it wouldn't! The global demand is there! There's literally pent up demand for wheat and rice! There's literally been multiple rice and wheat shortages the last 4 years! Even before Ukraine lost the ability to produce and ship as much as it was because of the Russian invasion!
November 21, 2025 at 11:33 PM
The global demand for food is in excess of production allocation, but less than production capabilities and transportation. And it is purely a political problem! They absolutely could make more money but they won't because of politics and bigotry!
November 21, 2025 at 11:31 PM
It's national politics, grandstanding, and bigotry against other European countries all the way down. They are just as bad if not worse than America's bigoted farmers who keep voting for Trump and anti-immigration policies even though it kills their farms!
November 21, 2025 at 11:28 PM
Yes I do! I have literally given lectures on European AG policy and politics! And the truth is it's bigotry all the way down. It's hurting everyone in Europe because they can't stand each other! There are no material or economic reasons for why it's so fucked up.
November 21, 2025 at 11:25 PM
It's not a sacrifice to be less bigoted and shitty to other people! There's no actual sacrifice involved economicly! It makes everyone in country more money!
November 21, 2025 at 11:22 PM
Without the extra pollution even! But it would mean the dreaded foreigner would get something (like living) and they can't stand that, even though it doesn't actually cost anything to them because the total economic growth is more than sticker cost!
November 21, 2025 at 11:20 PM
Right, but they don't grow rice, grains, and potatoes because there's not enough demand because there's already enough people growing them. Subsiding demand by doing 'foreign aid' or growing chemical precursor crops would fix this. They could be farms and make money!
November 21, 2025 at 11:18 PM
Europes economic problems are he same way. You don't need oil to be a rich country! Especially not today! Just electrify! But Europe, like the US, wants to be rich while looking a certain way and doing certain things and it just can't be done they way they want.

Shortage of people to do jobs you need done because you don't want to let the refugees work them? Political problem bound by sociocultural problems.

Farms upset the can't make enough money because the only cash crops the grow needs polluting Chemicals? Political problem bound by sociocultural
November 21, 2025 at 11:11 PM
It's kinda densely populated. It could absolutely easily double it's density. But Europeans don't want cities to look like Tokyo, Hong Kong, or Shanghai. Like everything else in the US and Europe, it's not really a resource problem, but a political problem bounded by sociocultural problems.
