Outside, the Jericho Walk was joined by congregants and clergy from The Church of St. Francis Xavier, Church of St. Ignatius Loyola (@jesuits.bsky.social), and many more. Despite rain, wind, and hail, over 70 people joined us in completing the entire seven laps around the building.

Outside, the Jericho Walk was joined by congregants and clergy from The Church of St. Francis Xavier, Church of St. Ignatius Loyola (@jesuits.bsky.social), and many more. Despite rain, wind, and hail, over 70 people joined us in completing the entire seven laps around the building.
These elected officials witnessed the ICE squads poised to kidnap our community members, the stress and trauma faced by the Friends entering that building, and the restrictive measures being placed on accompaniers and members of the public. They questioned supervisors from EOIR and ICE.

At a press conference afterwards, faith leaders and electeds spoke about what they observed within the court buildings, testifying that kidnappings are taking place even when Friends are given future court dates, changes of venue, or time to find an attorney or improve their asylum applications.

Once again, we witnessed a number of ICE kidnappings, which are being pursued with little regard to what’s happening in the courtroom; whether our Friends’ cases are dismissed or not.

Today at immigration court, 290 Broadway, we witnessed three kidnappings.
On Tuesday, our members witnessed ICE and FBI agents kidnapping a man in front of his family after his immigration hearing at 290 Broadway. His case had NOT been dismissed by the immigration judge, and he was instructed that he would have time to gather evidence to support his case.
