Agreed! I started these from seed in Autumn of 2023, planted out Spring of 2024, and am getting my first blooms this year. It's absolutely worth the wait.

My dad was adopted by an orange street cat. He fed her 9 lives, probably just because it was the first thing he grabbed, and we always called her Morris as a nickname. Pretty sure that was his favorite cat ever.

Finally, pin oaks are relatively short-lived compared to other oaks, but they're great for wildlife. All oak species support hundreds of animals and insects, either directly or indirectly, with food, shelter, nesting/host plant, and more.

Oblong, or egg-shaped. The lower branches angle down, the middle ones grow horizontally, and the upper ones grow toward the sky. Foliage has the typical "oak leaf" shape, with a small "hair" at the tip of each lobe (only occurs in red oaks). The acorns are very small (less than 5/8in or 16mm). 2/

There's one that comes to my backyard every spring. It hangs out way back, so I've never seen it on the ground, but when it flies, I can see it. 10/10 bird friend.
