New Mexico had huge jumps in reading scores among students last school year through validated reading learning/teaching methods. More states need to aggressively switch gears. 10% point gain in 8th graders reading at grade proficiency in 2 years & bigger gains in disparity sub-pops.

And now, our coverage turns to a live shot of the OMB Green Book.

“You cannot w/ a straight face tell me using procurement dollars to pay the military adheres to the purpose statute and the Antideficiency Act.” Or, you know, procurement.

Live shot of the OMB Green Book self-immolating.

They are going to get raked by polling, data analysis, etc. folks. Hopefully the spread of their tables does not drown out questions. Vibe so far is a smart-washed version of policy packaging something close to push polling. #DecidingToWin tables are junk.

I'd like to check for rookie mistakes like not weighting or averaging averages, but the data set has far too many gaps. And the methodology explainer is so lacking hard to even assess quality. This is after rooting around a bit because the main report detail is BS like this...

Has the GAO Green Book self-immolated yet?

As someone who has written federal and state capital/infrastucture grants... I am eager to learn how the hell the White House project got permitted/approved. I know this is using corporate bribes/indulgences, not fed money (though really, not even a little?), but what about DC HPO and NHPA?

Trump's net approval in New Mexico is underwater -22/-28 points, versus slightly + in January. I guess a war on Hispanics and illegally seizing massive $$$ in a grant-heavy state is not popular. And no, the flyover video of the massive crowds in ABQ for NoKings was not AI. It was that big.

And honestly, the ACA messaging I remember was about bending the cost curve. And it has succeeded in slowing national annual spending growth rate on healthcare (and several other measures). For example this from Health Affairs: www.healthaffairs.org/content/fore...

It is chile roasting season here in New Mexico, with the much lauded Hatch, NM chiles taking center stage... tumbling around propane roasters outside, all over. There's a costume in there.... I'll have to think on that.

I was thinking along the opposite lines earlier today.

Trump, stoker of "they're going to take away your cheeseburgers" is vastly underestimating the power of "they're going to take away your coffee and chocolate." As charming as chicory "coffee" is with a fresh beignet in NoLa... (I'm not going to even try with carob).

The Angry Daddy kink was clear at the TPUSA in 2024 with Tucker’s weird *naughty girl - vigorous spanking* bit.

Those familiar with malignant narcisism: As was foretold.

We have the GOP polarization and strategies to maintain power combining like som super-charged hellstorm with the toady administration of a narcissist who, at this point, basically is his pathology.

What would a prioritizing voting outcomes look like? KFF map is highest proportions of NCs. Plus watch swing districts for midterms and the following swing states for 2028: Nevada, Arizona, Georgia, Pennsylvania (with more nuance based on which subsets of naturalized citizens tend to vote R/D).

Seems like an important point to raise: Texas and Florida are the two states with the biggest population growth… and which are expected to make the biggest apportionment gains for GOP (8 or 9 seats).

Process change afoot in grants.gov, an independent verification and validation layer. This went out in the daily synopsis (link's dead now) and a few others went out recently. I recall DOGE wanting to clamp down on applicant sec (I know of no significant fraud happening with the system).

YES. But like in the style of the amazing opening ceremony peice in Paris (which pairs well with Melania's 2018 blood Christmas room).

Echoing @portiamcgonagal.bsky.social, they are not "huge" numbers due to vote share. Black ♀️were 9% of voters with 6% for Trump. Hispanic♀️votes were more; but White ♀️are 40% of voters-nearly 4X all POC ♀️. A doubling or zeroing of support from Black ♀️ is = to a 1% swing among WW.

Makes me think of all the videos in public spaces where 20 men ignore a guy harassing a woman or girl and it’s another woman who intervenes… or how the advice is to yell fire not rape to have a better chance at help if being raped… Bad biology, bad sociology, bad analogy. Bullshit all the way down.

NYT article highlighting federal funding impacts to NM. I will push back on the intro though. Much of why we are so high fed dollar exchange has to do with massive activity in defense (DOE is the biggest funder - "You need us on that wall").

Note, the ballyhooed trade deficit dropping numbers released with fanfare earlier in the week did not match St. Louis Fed (through Q1). And the BEA overall numbers are... so, some of what you cratered is back to normal? Plus:
- GDP ⬇️
- Exports ⬇️
- CPI ⬆️
- Inflation ⬆️
- US consumer spending in May ⬇️

Closing section "17. Prayer" Is this a common thing in TX or is it as weird as it seems as part of a divorce petition?
