Cllr Colin Ferguson, Leader of the Opposition, has responded to the news that the planned Advance UK conference will not be going ahead in the Crowne Plaza Hotel on Saturday 27 November.

Local Labour MPs voted against a Lib Dem plan to expand free bus travel for disabled residents.
The amendment, tabled by @tomgordonld.bsky.social, would have removed all time restrictions on disabled people using their bus passes.

Local Labour MPs voted against a Lib Dem plan to expand free bus travel for disabled residents.

We have consistently challenged #Newcastle Council’s “Parks Trust” model: if it was going to work, it needed much more clear headed planning and less wishful thinking. Now we’re five years - maybe more - behind in much needed investment in our City’s green spaces.
