Business owner, Mum, Labour.
Let’s virtually socialise with good humour again like the good ol’ days!
This is it. All of this was in the manifesto. I get some people don’t like the approach but the manifesto was always clear about getting a grip on the immigration system. They all stood on that manifesto and were voted in on it. If they constantly go against the leadership they they lied.

We can’t deal with what might happen in the future only the current situation. New rules and policies can always be brought in as emergency measures. As in the case of the Ukraine settlement scheme.

We always were lower than other countries. But in terms of size we are far smaller than many European countries. The Dublin agreement was about people making claims in just 1 EU country and keeping families together. We lost the right to return hence the 1 in 1 out deal. That’s all the same

I agree with caps but it should be done in conjunction with other countries so everyone provides. There were quotas when we were in the EU so that’s not new.

Wouldn’t completely stop it. Although the majority come from unsafe countries over 30% come from areas that aren’t deemed unsafe therefore no “safe route” would exist. Although I agree safe routes would help - but that is part of the policy. migrationobservatory.ox.ac.uk/wp-content/u...

Stella Creasy also quite reasonable. It’s a really tough subject, especially for Labour. I’m 100% in favour but I think because I’m in an area that the criminal gang side of it is very visible now and destroying our town. So I see it as desperate now.
November 18, 2025 at 4:29 PM
Yeah that’s sort of what I mean. Let’s face it, it’s a tough subject. I think it’s always going to be unpalatable if our aim is to deter people seeing us as a “soft touch” so I get why people find it hard. But I’m sick of the sneering and smug left’s attitude towards the issue.

Do you have the clip of Shabana rebutting a Lib Dem MP drawing on her own racist experiences? It was a masterclass.

Why FFS? Are you serious? You must be living in a bubble. Criminal gangs are exploiting people. You do know that right? news.npcc.police.uk/releases/pol...

How you going to stop the people being trafficked paying these gangs in the first place? How you going to stop the illegal trade in people coming over the channel? People are being exploited in the worst way. The whole business model needs smashing.

No it isn’t. I know the local issues very well. It’s criminal gangs trafficking people, putting them in locations they think they’re easier hidden. Usually on quiet high streets with shops as the fronts. These gangs then use the shops for drugs and counterfeit goods. I’m not an idiot.

This is my town. Until very recently I’d have agreed with you. But in the last couple of years our town has dramatically changed. Now overrun with criminals - shop that are fronts for people trafficking and drugs. These are the gangs that need smashing desperately news.sky.com/story/sky-ne...
