"The manosphere fuels a sense of ‘male entitlement’... As linguists, we can uncover ideologies from the manosphere, recognise them when they permeate the mainstream, and challenge them."
Thanks for sharing your linguistic expertise on such a relevant topic. It's a joy to work alongside you!

Ethical sex or good sex requires more than consent. It also requires a proper regard for one’s own self and for the other, including a proper regard for the other’s desires and beliefs (Archard, 2022), or ‘mutuality’, a caring attention to the other person (Lamb et al., 2021)

I'm pleased to share that my entry for Janet Cotterill in the 2nd edition of the Encyclopedia of Applied Linguistics is expected to be published online in spring 2025, and in print in winter 2025. In there, I explore her remarkable research and her contributions in the field of language and law

And my abstract got accepted! I'll be talking about how the PUA community linguistically diminishes women's sexual authority and agency, providing understandings of consent that allow them to reclaim their masculinity through heterosexual activity. See you soon @iafll.bsky.social
Just submitted my abstract for the 17th Biennial Conference of the International Association for Forensic & Legal Linguistics (IAFLL). Assuming it will be accepted, I'm excited to have the opportunity to talk about my research on sexual consent in such an inspirational environment.
