The two most valuable things I learned from this book were 1. the cloth workers affected by industrialization used machines in their own small shops, and 2. factory owners learned they could not replace labor with machines, because the machines needed constant skilled maintenance to work at all.

For clarity, btw, I am agreeing with Kelly and supplementing their points with my thread. In case the angry tone might have confused anyone.
