You’re not wrong. Personal opinion doing research on 20+ disability models as well as critical/emancipatory autism studies: Since Autism isn’t any one thing, it’s also needs to connect with many different disability models.

It’s not my intention to find a positive in everything about being Autistic. Sometimes it’s difficult to find a positive on the worst days. But often a reframe is needed to remember the function.

I see it differently, as an expression of our Autistic Integrity Function. It serves a purpose, even if it’s not welcome all the time or potentially debilitating.
