It's definitely feeling a bit colder out there today. It's cold enough for the showers to be falling as sleet and snow over the high ground in Scotland. (Images from the Netweather radar)

A good rash of showers this afternoon - some thundery as well. All thanks to a fairly familiar picture over the last week or so - low pressure near to the west of Scotland. #NetweatherRadar

A rinse and repeat end to meteorological summer, with another low to our northwest. It's bringing a day of sunny spells and blustery showers. The unsettled theme continues into next week.
August 31, 2025 at 12:04 PM
Low pressure still with us today - so more showery, sometimes heavy and thundery rain to come.
August 29, 2025 at 8:37 AM
An autumnal feel to the #weather this morning with low pressure out to the west of Scotland and Northern Ireland, and bands of showery rain working their way inland from the west through the day. Some early warm sunshine in the east of England though.
