To do your Christmas shopping (by all means, if someone posts something and it happens to be something that you know would be a great gift for a family member, express your interest! No arguing that). Does anyone have thoughts? Am I out of touch and need to check my privilege? 12/12

I just think that some people are taking “Buy Nothing” to the absolute extreme. Overconsumption is a huge issue, I’m not arguing that, and hell yeah, get that free stuff when you can, but also making use of second hand stores is great. Not exploiting the kindness of people in your community 11/

Now maybe I’m privileged enough that buying the majority of things second hand and the occasional new item works for our budget. I’ll admit that an aunt of mine very generously bought all the nursery furniture for us (crib, dresser with change table top, and rocker). 10/

Emojis claiming to have just left an abusive partner and are now a single parent needing to completely furnish their new apartment and get clothes. If these are real people and legit posts, I do feel for them, but the way these specific posts are, they set off my spam radar. 9/

Though it is against the rules of the group and made me slightly uncomfortable because I know if I were the wife in that situation I’d be pissed either way (spending money they don’t have or begging for food online). Not to mention the scammy-looking posts made by anonymous posters, filled with 8/

And will make multiple posts with the items that they have managed to get crossed off, but they still need x,y,&z. I have even seen someone ask for someone to buy them pizza and wings from Pizza Nova for their step-child’s birthday because they’ve been having money issues. That one I felt bad for 7/

Christmas gifts (I saw requests for real Xbox and PlayStation controllers, among other not so cheap items). Fairly frequently I see people looking to entirely kit out their baby’s nursery, again with brand name things (baby things, including cribs and bassinets, etc, are posted all the time) 6/

(A certain size of toddler/children’s skates comes to mind and is something I’ve seen recently). What I can’t get behind though, and what I have seen a lot of, is asking for brand name, expensive things. Before Christmas people were using the Buy Nothing Groups to request items for their kids’ 5/

Weren’t interested in for whatever reason), dog items that we no longer need, and our 2 year old microwave when we got a new one at Christmas. I also totally understand people who use it to ask for things to borrow or check if someone has something specific laying around that has been outgrown 4/

I have seen people offer just about everything from fairly expensive couches to baby items to random pantry items to fast food items that they were mistakenly given and can’t eat for whatever reason. I have gifted baby clothes that I could not sell (not dirty or damaged but Once Upon a Child 3/

Post only what YOU have (not on behalf of someone else or something you saw in front of someone’s house on the curb), everything is “gifted” (free, no selling/bartering), no discussion of money, and follow the law (no drugs, firearms, expired/recalled baby products, etc). 2/

I hate being stuck renting. I hate that even if we moved we would be paying the same or (probably) more. I hate that it’s nearly impossible to save for a down payment to buy property of our own. Anyways, my vent got off track. Corporate greed sucks & we need to do better.

The management company talks about all these improvements they’re making to the property, but there’s major issues like this in the existing buildings (new building is the 4th on the property). & they keep applying for above market rent increases each year (& just increase parking when it’s denied).

This exit is where WheelTrans picks up passengers who have booked a ride. The front of the building is currently taken up by a construction parking lot b/c a new building is being built on the property. So the back is the only option.

The back of the building is where most people enter and exit from. I’m usually pushing a stroller and walking a dog and it’s a struggle dealing with the doors. But for disabled or elderly people who aren’t able to maneuver quickly? Practically impossible.

The button next to the door does nothing. The one on the other side has the same result as the video. On occasion the door will actually stay open, but it’s very few and far between. If the door to the outside is open this door often opens an inch then slams shut until the outside door closes.

I’m ace, too (demi, if im being technical), which is probably why I’m not into it. Romantic feelings, sure, but I find most sex in YA doesn’t need to be there. I’d love to know other ace authors!
