We just got the bill for my oldest son’s 1 week hospital stay. $1900, which I knew a lot would be covered by insurance. The amount billed to insurance: $190,000 😱😱😱

Oh my goodness... i found one in the wild (and it makes me sad). An AI crochet pattern on Etsy. Depressing. And also goodness that looks so fake. As a crocheter, that is not how the stitches look or work.

Honestly never would have expected Sonic to essentially meet the walking dead. (It’s still awesome just… ugh! So gut wrenching)

It is a fantastic show!
You won't believe this. My team and I make this show called SciShow that works hard to be rigorous and accurate while also being appealing and entertaining.
We reach a LOT of people every year with episodes about crabs and neutrinos and gender and cancer and vaccines.
It's great, I love it.

Bluesky has been flooded with automated reply bots - they'll offer a sort of confrontational opinion as a reply. They're pretty convincing and we all need to train ourselves to not reflexively reply to all responses until we check

It is always interesting to self reflect on any written fiction you make and figure out why you wrote it. There is a reason. Probably something you are processing.
I think every creative activity—not just original works but also fanfiction—comes from the creator’s mental world. And it usually takes something from us, like mental energy, to some extent.

I have resigned myself to rebrand a bit and take the pressure off of myself to publish. I do still plan to publish things but not make it such a serious endeavor.

No idea why it took so long but I finally got a new desk chair. I was literally using the desk chair I had as a kid (maybe 30 year old chair).
