Was very excited to read FERRIGNO’s debut. He was one of those authors I discovered in middle school while looking through the mystery section at B&N for books with blurbs that referenced Tarantino, Leonard or Hiaasen.

The High Life and With Their Hearts In Their Boots by Jean-Pierre Martinet are bleakly funny and wonderfully mean loser noirvellas. The High Life is not only something of a masterpiece but the book itself from @wakefieldpress.bsky.social is absolutely stunning just as an object.
