this is the slide where the architect is trying to convince the public that this building is not that tall compared to the neighboring properties and the metra + streets right of way

September 25, 2025 at 12:14 AM
very cool that they have bike parking! access to parking is placed as far away from the intersection as possible. there's 13 units on each floor from floor 2-4, and 9 total units on floor 5. apologies i couldn't take the pictures of the upper floor plans
September 25, 2025 at 12:12 AM
5 stories building, mix of 1- 2- and 3- bedrooms. the architect wants to put in 30 parking spots. the existing buildings in the area will be demolished, the property will not impact the fire station.
September 25, 2025 at 12:12 AM
the investor and the real estate person is also introducing themselves. they say they drive by this area all the time. the architect also knows the area very well.
September 25, 2025 at 12:03 AM

i think the lady speaking is the principle for the school? she's clarifying that this project will not impact enrollment significantly for the schools in the area, and that there are space for kids. the only thing she sees impacting edgebrook is the *traffic*
September 24, 2025 at 11:52 PM
jim is opening the event. lots of people clapping for him just saying "i'm the alderman for 45th ward" so i'm assuming everyone here likes him. he's saying that it's important for people to be here to know how this proposal may impact residents (and old schools)
September 24, 2025 at 11:40 PM
i am at a packed developer meeting in jim gardiner's 45th ward regarding the edgebrook development on lehigh & devon avenue. this is gonna be interesting (live thread to continue)

estimates that without necessary funding, 9.1 million hours lost from chicagoans because of longer wait times/decreased frequency. vice chair is also emphasizing the other direction with more funding and wants feedback from riders on what to spend more on
September 18, 2025 at 11:02 PM
laying out the budget crisis due to ridership decrease and rising service costs. public funding is 52% of total funding, fares and system generated revenue 21%, one time covid funding 27%
September 18, 2025 at 10:56 PM
budget director is emphasizing the budget efficiency (lowkey throwing shade on other agencies) in maximizing funding to service, keeping admin expenses low. she's now talking about how CTA rank the lowest in state allocation compared to other transit agencies
September 18, 2025 at 10:56 PM
now the very entertaining stuff! budget director going through composition of the expenses, talks about the costs growing post pandemic
September 18, 2025 at 10:56 PM

August 17, 2025 at 12:46 AM
