Dabbler in various nerdy things. Mainly on here for Star Trek fandom.

Very frustrating that so much of our modern political discourse boils down to this Huffpost peice from 2017:

If you see this, post a Star Trek!

This line killed me. Cancelling 800 units in housing crisis, or a pharma company just *closing their blinds sometimes*. Such a tough call.

From the TTC website's page about staying off the tracks.

Also, despite what may "look cool". The subway is obnoxiously loud. Maybe better maintenance could ameliorate some of that, but full height PSDs would for sure bring it down some decibels.

This peice had previously been used as the cover for Ben Bova's short story collection Forward in Time, published June of '82.

Blue Jays fan here who does mostly likes the SkyDome ("Roger's Center") but good lord the Dodger's stadium outfield is gorgeous. Love those little roof things at the top of the bleachers.

Oh very interesting! Will keep an eye out. Just so happened to watch that episode last night. One detail I for sure missed when it first aired was the prop Galaxy cover that used the matte painting from Court Marital.

Alternatively, if the impulse engines still replace the shuttle bays on the neck, you could move them down to the aft end with a quasi-clamshell door configuration

Was quite please with these details that aren't immediately obvious when looking at the whole picture.

Of course women don't like the Cybertruck.

Women only want one thing, and it's a Mk4 VW Golf with a paint job patterned after the Planet Express ship from Futurama.

This guy lives in my neighbourhood and I'm totally charmed by the creamsicle paint job (the orange is a bit lighter, irl)

Oh good call! Berkeley Medallion edition. I've never read any Piers Anthony but I do have a copy wth a cover by Bruce Pennington somewhere.

In that particular case, I happened to have gotten very lucky at some thrift shops! That said I might opt to leave these untouched and read the e-reader version - or perhaps listen to the Andrew J. Robinson narrated audiobook.

It's National Motorcycle Ride Day 🏍️

Post a scene with a Motorcycle...

There are some (probably pricy!) two seat pedal cars out there, like this Finnish made Kinner Car. But as you can see, not suitable for bike lanes. Still, in a world with sane speed limits*, there's no reason an electric version of this couldn't keep pace with cars.

*and enforcement, road design.

On the other hand, cheers to these double aspect units accessed by the courtyard balcony/walkway! North America could never.

Had an idea in my mind's eye, and then was disappointed to see these single aspect units (the lower ones sort of fake dual aspect with a bedroom window onto the balcony). Would have thought they'd be one larger unit that span the width of that section.

Finally finished up the two oddball cargo ship designs to go along with my cigarette lighter inspired warp nacelles.

These two give off that "We saw you from across the bar and really dig your vibe" energy

There are these square details on the saucer rim that I've always assumed are hatches of some kind. Perhaps small bay doors, but that could also conceal extendable docking ports. Not sure if they match the docking port, size wise.
