The Guardian isn't Murdoch owned, it's owner is a corporate specifically created to protect it from that kind of ownership and control. So this is worse than if there was a push on the scales by the owner

And no access areas, rules for events etc isn't going to fix that community. That's a pervasive and quite worrying culture problem that the reader community needs to address at all levels. Like, put the con plans down, fix the missing stairs first.
