It seems to just be their thing. I assume an alt account for comments they're too ashamed to associate with a main.

I see it as a teaching moment.

It’s a more scientifically accurate statement but boy does that open up a follow up can of worms for that kind of backwater planet thinking…

So in Jakri’s case, and I suppose the fish that we have here on Earth that do the same thing, do you mean “pronouns don’t change your hormone levels”?
November 21, 2025 at 2:19 AM
See, that’s an interesting point. The species in question can actually change their sex without changing their DNA.

The concept is based off of a few real species of fish we have here on Earth that do the same thing.

Expression of sex isn’t necessarily a gene thing - it’s a body chemistry thing.

Her external layer needed built up, as she started bare metal - the skin layer was grown. To have it be natural looking, the process was set up to simulate aging, including adjusting the underlying metal frame as necessary.

In canon she has no memory of that, and her usual look is the end result.

Entirely valid! Not quite the point for Jakri here, but otherwise yes, 100% valid indeed!

How do they distinguish between the types of parent? Can it be any two, or is there effectively a male and a female? Why do they not refer to it?

Are they, in fact, the dwarves from Discworld?

I am 100% sure he'd disagree with you there

One assumes biological sex is also not relevant for said species?

Ironically native Ticali struggle with the concept of gender vs sex. When you can change sex at will, the idea of having your gender not match your sex is, well, alien.

She's a robot you know

She did actually look like this in her original design, 15 years ago or whenever I first drew her.
