Insatiably curious writer with a family of ferrets. Wheelchair user, fiercely feminist, trans and queer, neurospicy, and deeply nerdy 🤓

Love how gritty and chewed up Murderbot’s armor gets in the second promo image: I’m really looking forward to this.

I dreamed my doctor told me she couldn't see me anymore because it was illegal to treat trans people. And I know it was just a bad dream but I'm really becoming afraid that's going to happen soon, and I don't know what I can do to prevent it

This is Oak and Ronin. They’ve been best friends since the day I brought Ronin home. Now Ronin is in what are probably his last days. I’m heartbroken to think of losing him, and worried for Oak, who will have lost all his ferret friends. I need to figure out how and when to introduce new ferrets

Friends, I love you. And I am just as scared as you are about what the incoming regime will bring. I’m disabled, queer, and trans, and my communities are in the crosshairs.

That being said, I also gotta keep on living, and to do that I need a modicum of optimism that we will make it through. 1

I’m not good at this format. I loved LiveJournal back in the day. I still love tumblr. Never liked Twitter so didn’t care when it got Xed. I tolerated FB because I had a lot of uses for it, but now it’s gone full evil. Now it’s here or nowhere for many friends, so here I am. I’m old and don’t wanna

I was asked to write an article on how to talk to other people about myasthenia gravis for the MGFA. It just went live, so here it is 😁

Today is Transgender Day of Remembrance, when we remember and honor all those trans and nonbinary people who have lost their lives to prejudice and hate—some by mob violence, some by individual murder, some by their own hands, bullied into giving up on life.

Yes, please. Turn that shit off right now. They can scrap my trashcan if they want, but they better keep their dirty hands off my creations!
Here’s your friendly reminder to plow through the labyrinth of menus in Microsoft Word to turn off all “connected experiences”. That’s their euphemism for scraping every letter you write to train their AI.

Here’s how you do it. 🧵

My dad wrote a small memoir that wanders around the recipe for his bean soup, which he made every fall and winter. I finally went through and extracted my best guess at the actual recipe, which was quite loosey-goosey as family recipes in the South often were. I made it tonight, and it’s delicious.
