This is an interesting take, mostly because I personally view "the players quitting on the pitch" as one of the main things that is mostly the fault of the manager in charge of said players.

I mean, it would be kind of a crazy move, if we're honest, right?
I know we want depth and everything, but you can't be spending huge money on another attacker when you ALREADY can't fit 1-2 of our big-money attackers into the current lineup, surely!

Yeah, I agree. It was when I said we should let him leave before paying him north of £250k/week, that's when I lost my friends!

My main thought was more that we should be very careful how much we paid him, rather than "we should let him go," though, to be fair.

I would be over the moon if we got 90% of this Salah next year and 80% the year after that, to be honest.

Literally had a Twitter argument yesterday with a big-name LFC supporter who was ECSTATIC during the transfer window and then crazy optimistic when we won 5 in a row with terrible underlying numbers and is now adamant that Slot's job is in jeopardy if we don't win our next game.

The funniest part is that almost ANY brainworm-level conspiracy lunacy could have been sold to MAGA and the right wing of Europe as the reason to support maximalist Russian war aims.
And yet he managed to stumble into the one that could never possibly make any sense to any of them!

I personally think it's more a story about how we're struggling to replace Trent's ball progression and Salah is starting to age, rather than about the lack of Diaz or pressing from the front.
A front line of Gakpo/Isak/30-year old Salah with Trent supplying the passes wins the league w/ease.

You might think so on first watch, but watch it again. He makes absolutely zero movement towards the ball as he cushions it. It's actually an absurdly good pass!

I was confident Trent Alexander-Arnold was 28. Been around forever, broke into the first team like 8 years ago, Liverpool let him leave because he was too old to be worth the wages, etc.

I remember once reading a proposal that a football club should be "run by the fans" with a fan vote being required for all major decisions.
My counter-argument that any team that did this would immediately finish bottom of the league fell largely on deaf ears.

This is a great warning for me, specifically, a person who was considering reading these & also has a crippling case of completism.
How bad a case, you ask? I completed The Wheel of Time. Even the ones where it was CLEAR that Jordan was just running a social experiment rather than writing a novel.
