Huh. You may be right. There seems to be a difference somewhere, though. Not sure what it is. I’m still cheering for del Toro.

I agree (with the snippet). I am a big fan of del Toro’s and Frankenstein is (mostly) a feast for the eyes, but his last few films seem all surface/text to me. And it feels that bringing all that is implied to the surface somehow hollows out the story.
