They didn't.

But let's be real, man.

A lot of channels tend to go all out on sizzle reels and promo images to hype the product and don't put on EVERYTHING they promise.

MeTV Toons has been around for about one and a half years and still hasn't premiered everything they hyped in 2024.

When I saw this, I thought to myself "This dude looks like Scatman John."

Then, well... I had to do it.

Crap, crap, crap, merde, merde, merde.

Dammit, dammit, DAMMIT!

Scratch it all.

Forget everything I mentioned, suggested, thought about in this concept.

Flashy-thing it from your brain.

Can't call it Planet Universal since Discovery had the "Planet" brand on lock with Animal Planet.

It definitely was a Marvel production.

And yes, that Spider-Man end card was as epic as you can get with a production logo.

Rabbit Stew and Rabbits Too! was, essentially, a short that felt like a Wile E. Coyote and the Road Runner short that didn't feature them.

And you know what?

It actually felt fresh as a result. A silly series of chases and slapstick from Bob McKimson that stands out on its own.

Looking forward to The Dakota Incident and seeing how the Milestone heroes are incorporated in the New History of the DC Universe, but I'm not gonna lie.

This great cover by Yasmine Putri gives me pause.

It's beautiful and powerful, but that visual makes me a bit anxious about the heroes' fates.

Fine. I'll do it.

But I'll probably hate myself in the morning.

One of the very few Emmy-winning Looney Tunes projects, and it's one that manages to have fun with the characters. Still 80 episodes in this media climate is a heck of a run.

Don't @ me or DM me about anything going on with Warner Bros and the Ellisons...

That said, every story I see about the Oracle Scion of the Mountain trying to buy the Watertower seems like that meme about the dude with his girlfriend mesmerized by another girl.

So, I had to edit it appropriately.

Post something random or you'll have an awful December.

And because I'm a perfectionist nerd who rarely revisits something he created in the past, I had to tweak the originals and add "presents" after finding the original typeface that I didn't have before (thanks @benapplegate.com).

I needed to do a follow-up on an edit I made almost two years ago.

bsky.app/profile/nema...

I knew I wanted to see a cleaned-up version of the old AAP Looney Tunes card, but I also wanted to see if I could try it with Disney characters.

I just had to get it out of my system. I think it's okay.

Memories of watching old cartoons every afternoon when I was a kid in the 1980s, especially those old AAP prints of old Disney cartoons... wait a tic...

Even Cartoon Express and Cartoon Network have the same amount of letters.

So, yeah, it would feel more like a copycat reaction to a brand that's just starting out.
November 17, 2025 at 1:32 AM
That would be a good print announcement image.

I think at launch, they'd use something a bit more simplified as the "corner DOG" and then upgrade that to the more modern logo I presented earlier.

You have to look at how these logo designs work on-screen & in print. Then you can have fun with it.

You see the elements that are prominent within the Universal brand itself.

The globe stands out, so you work with that.

"Global" and "Globe" are out. "World" is out too.

But you could easily use "Planet." A Planet that belongs to kids & teens. This is their world.

Call it Planet Universal.

Zack & Lisa didn't date on the show.

The Bayside Triangle (Season 4, Episode 5) had the pair growing close and ultimately kissed each other on the lips a couple of times, but they never went out on a date on an episode.

But they didn't date on the show. In real-life, absolutely. But not on SBTB.

Tomorrow's the big day for the rebranding, which is still stupid.

I know that keeping MSNBC is impossible, but if I were in charge of rebranding the channel, I'd use the Versant brand prominently to introducing it properly on its marquee news channel.

I'd call it VNV: Versant NewsVoice.
November 14, 2025 at 9:50 PM
I hope they collab on something like The Last Dimension, BlackSun, Samurai no Tora, or Just a Goblin as well.

I do like they're adapting some of the Western-made Webtoons titles.

Shucks, I wish ActionKiddy's Jupiter Men was still going because, damn, that would be SO good animated.

So, so good.

It's a shame Roc doesn't get much love from folks. Probably one of the best casts ever assembled in a sitcom, and the acting was top-notch, as one would expect from talented theater veterans. They even did a live season where every episode was a mini play.

But alas, it was on early FOX.

I don't think Lester was cynical nor bitter.

Skeptical, absolutely, but not cynical. Cynics believe in nothing, and skeptics want to see things proven to be true.

Cranky, maybe, but not bitter.

And he wasn't a rat. He was a man in a rat suit playing a man in a rat suit.

Know the differences.

Postscript:

Now, one time, Warner Bros Animation did a Batman series that was explicitly intended to sell toys, Batman Unlimited.

But nobody talks about it because it was forgettable.

I really dig that Cartoon Rewind put in some really obscure shows on the lineup that hadn't been seen in decades. Heck, Meatballs and Spaghetti hadn't been seen in over 40 years. But that HB and WB animated library is deep.

Showcase more of the oddities.
