Dealing with optics (SFP\QSFP) across different vendors is annoying sometimes.

Trying to find Lian Li cooling kit in white right now is apparently hard mode. At least in SL variants.

wtf is Nvidia doing with this new generation. Releasing dies to AIBs with a disabled ROP unit... and leaving AIBs to suffer the consumer consequences.

This would have been the year for AMD to try to take it to Nvidia in the high end market, lol.

Just in case people follow me, but aren't necessarily keeping up with computer part trends, etc. but are looking to upgrade their GPU:

I currently cannot recommend investing in either an Nvidia RTX 5080 or 5090 GPU... unless you really like potential fires.

There's days I very much miss the more analogue era and earlier computing before the ubiquity of the internet.

I don't know if it's because I was much younger, but that era was so fascinating to live in.

Plus getting caught in low-bitrate 480i gave you plausible deniability over being caught in 4k

I've done it. I finished all 3 Xenosaga games. I am free.

The reason we got Metal Gear Solid 4 is, because Monolith out-Kojima'd PS2 era Kojima in cutscenes and that could not stand.

If you use 7-Zip, I highly recommend updating to 24.07 or later (current is 24.09). There's a code execution vuln prior to 24.07 (CVE-2024-11477).

About a month behind on the heads up, but I just recently stumbled upon the CVE myself.

Me, after finishing Xenosaga I last night: Why did I stop playing at the start of Xenosaga II?
Me, after the first few scenes of Xenosaga II: Oh, right.
Me, several hours into Xenosaga II: Oh... Right...

I'm gonna do it. I'm going to get through all three games this time...

Upgraded from a Synology DS220+ to a DS923+ and the migration was easy and painless. I think the hardest part was fixing the DHCP reservation and doing a bit of cable management.

No idea what's going on in South Korea right now with that martial law declaration, but stay safe if you're there.

Whoever designed the final dungeon of Tales of Berseria, please don't design anything anymore. What a complete lack of intelligent... anything. It's just a big clusterfuck.

The team behind this game failed to execute on most levels. What a waste of what could have been a great story.

Audit: We need you to provide evidence on [server]
Me: We don't manage [server].
Audit: Okay

The next day
Audit (same person): We need you to provide evidence on [server]
Me: As stated previously, we do not manage [server].

To be nice: I don't understand the logic here.

But I want to be mean.

I'm free! I finished Slitterhead and I think it is my worst game of the year for me. It's a shame, because I was excited for this one, as it comes from the creator of Silent Hill and Gravity Rush.

There's still technically a "true ending" to get, but no. I'm done.

I don't know why near fullscreen vignette is a recurring theme in games, but I think it's a lazy indicator of player condition that orients more towards a fail state, rather than being informative.

Edge of screen is fine, however it seems more and more games are encroaching on the full screenspace.

If you're a Windows 11 user, be aware that 24H2 >= build 26100 has Windows Recall feature enabled and is hidden. This is agnostic of having an NPU (ex. x86 systems also get it).

It might not be running snapshots currently, but it presents as a feature. Not sure if deliberate or not. Probably is.

I'm generally willing to give couriers benefit of the doubt when they deliver next door; Or just even getting the street right, at least.

How did Fedex manage to deliver a package to my place, when the address on the label is several streets over. It's not even the same number or similar sounding.

I've been here since last year, but: hello world.

Is Microsoft here yet? Can I tell them how infuriating their products are?
