Grumpy old Australian man that loves dogs, wine, travel and food. Friend of Ukraine. Thinks Trump is the rich village idiot.
Across the board there is very little difference between ALP and LNP. The best voices in parliement are amongst the independents.

What about the big issues, climate change and wealth inequality?

No, his name is Fuckwit kov.

Under Albanese, the ALP has just slowly morphed into a party much like the LNP. They have buggerall in significant policy and are just determined to cling onto power for powers sake whilst protecting the moneyed class.

It sounds like the ancient principle"bread and circuses to keep the peasants quiet"

Conservatives loath science a it upsets their prejudices and threatens their comfortable world. Yes, ALP has become another conservative party.

Perhaps should start calling him a criminal rather than a felon. I think many of his supporters are too dumb to know what a felon is.

Very suspicious

As a scientist with a good idea where climate change is going, I would avoid having children out of concern for them.

Put the money in a frozen "Russian Assets" fund and then allow Ukraine to borrow against it for the war effort.

I am old enough to remember the Liberal party under Menzies. In some aspects it would be considered left of todays ALP.eg In 1960's I went through uni with all course fees paid and also a living allowance (Tax free) equal to the then minimum wage None of this had to be repaid later.

I no longer believe any statements coming from Israel without independent confirmation.

My 14 year old solar panels are effectively self cleaning. Never had maintenance to date, original lifetime estimate was 25 tears. Do note though that efficiency has dropped off since first installed.

Its 31c/kWH for me if I buy grid power but my rooftop solar costs 2c/kWH All this is initial capital cost - (no ongoing cost in 14 years). Most of Canada's electricity is also from renewables, particularly hydroelectricity
November 6, 2025 at 8:33 AM
Due to renewables the production cost of electricity is actually decreasing. Your costs are increasing because transmission costs and retail margins are both increasing. Every time poles and wires come down in a storm, costs go up.

I recently switched to a smart meter but stayed on same tariff

Plentiful electricity perhaps but limited water for cooling in AU
November 6, 2025 at 8:15 AM
Once you have solar panels installed it does not matter a damn what China does with prices.

Mine bulk bills, no co-payment for me.

But he is still there. Proof that "Thoughts and Prayers" are useless.
November 5, 2025 at 7:19 AM
Limited benefit to those with solar panels though. I generally do not use grid electricity between about 9.am and 4.pm, all power comes from my solar. However it will be good for those without solar panels.

I suggest you just Google median wages in China and USA. Sure less in China a lot more a tenth.

It makes more sense when you accept that the Nationals are really the mining party. Their talk of supporting farmers and country jobs is just for show.
