There is a lot of untapped wisdom out there. HTs who have a great deal of mileage in the role and the potential to support new heads or those facing challenges.

Mentioning that I am a Special School Head seems to give people a safe space to speak about the #SEND of their own or someone they know.
It is important to respect this feeling of trust as individuals are putting themselves in a vulnerable place.

I think I have a SEND magnet - very frequently when I’m out with my grandsons I meet parents who it turns out are struggling to confirm if their child has SEND or to get help. 1/2
