Dallas has one of the lowest voter turnout of any major US city (dallasweekly.com/2025/05/low-...), and other cities that moved their elections to November have seen a real increase in voters.

Council is set to vote on the amendment in one week, on November 12th, so make your voice heard!

Didn't we already vote for this? Yes, we did pass a charter amendment with over 65% of the vote last November, but this is the final necessary step to officially change the date.

Moving elections to November will increase turnout and is a needed pro-democracy measure!

Answer: 50% of renters and 24% of homeowners.
This speaks to the power of home equity (up approximately 240% in the past decade) but also the depth of the affordability crisis, not just from undersupply but also from wage growth not keeping up with costs www.jchs.harvard.edu/sites/defaul...

Their work has prevented tens of thousands of evictions from happening. Along with the improvements made by Housing Forward, the work of the DEAC is likely a huge part in the decrease in homelessness in Dallas since 2020 as studies have found those who get evicted use emergency shelters 300% more.
