Economics Lecturer at University of Reading. I do research in Development Economics and Economic History. I have a little boy who gives very good cuddles.
Poignant, heartbreaking yet quietly witty prison diary of an environmental activist, in the world where a felon head of state advocated “drill, baby drill”.

I was jailed for four years for a non-violent climate protest – this is my prison diary
I was one of a group of Just Stop Oil activists given the longest-ever UK sentences for peaceful protest after blocking a motorway. Six months into my incarceration, this is what I have learned

Joy of having an awesome coauthor- We got a reject. I was grumpy&annoyed at reviewer 2. My coauthor pointed at all the positives that the editor&ref 1 had noted. Then her lovely little daughter announced she had come 10th in a race that had 11 people.Always work with the glass-half-full people ❤️

Continuing with my self authorised role of being the brand ambassador for Bihar- can I say, Nalanda is stunning. It’s an ancient residential university setup in 4th c BCE & ran until 1200CE. It the home to thousands of scholars & was incredibly cosmopolitan with students from India& south east Asia

Bihar is stunning! Infamously a “Bimaru” state with the reputation of poverty and casteism, it is so much more. It is India’s second most populous state where the Ganges is at its glorious best..
