First one I was actually aware of being Japanese. Parents were early adopters of Sky TV when it rolled out in New Zealand and they ran a bunch of animated films in afternoons.
Maybe saw Mysterious Cities of Gold, Voltron or Saber Rider before this, but not as sure when they were on NZ TV.
