What earlier era are we harkening back to, the Jim Crow era?

Saying this like Magnus doesn't canonically have the ability to alter his appearance at will.

Also, from my reading, Russ hated Magnus more than Magnus hated Russ (until the Burning of Prospero, at least).

"We do all kinds of crazy things to make it taste good."

Yeah, that's called cooking. You know, spices, marinades, that kind of thing.

Wait until this guy hears about all the crazy things we have to do to *wheat* in order to get good bread.

Pleasing a woman... as a man... is gay.

So is his wife gay if she makes him orgasm but doesn't get pregnant? Does he think it's not gay to make other men orgasm? I have so many questions.

One of the coolest things about looking at paintings in museums is seeing the brushstrokes, because it's like you can see the artist's process frozen in time. It's a connection with the human aspect of the work.

Also, AI is fundamentally anti-creativity. It can only consume and regurgitate.

Nurgle is my second-favorite Chaos faction, so I am excited about all the new stuff they're getting.

However, Tzeentch is my favorite, and it is mind-blowing to me that Nurgle is getting even more new stuff while Tzeentch has literally *one* unit that is neither daemon nor Tzaangor.

If only Tzeentch could receive 1/4 the love that Nurgle has gotten in AoS...

I confess to not understanding at all. This isn't a zero-sum game. More representation for some doesn't mean less for others. Nobody is out here trying to R63 Marneus Calgar or Garviel Loken.

People see queer folk realizing who they are after seeing something that they didn't have a name for represented in media for the first time and think they were "brainwashed."

If you think that watching a gay couple kiss will turn you gay, then buddy, I have some news for you.

I still haven't figured out what these people's actual plan of action is. I mean seriously, how do they actually plan on "gatekeeping" something that anyone, anywhere can participate in?

Just post a bunch of cringe Sephiroth nonsense and then declare victory?

Have you seen the movie yet?

Same!

...considered getting back into it but my brother has said he isn't really interested and without him I don't know if the magic would still be there.
October 11, 2025 at 5:26 PM
I feel this.

WoW was such a huge part of my life for like 10 years. My brother and I used to play together a lot back in my high school and college days. We were main-tank and off-tank (Paladin and Death Knight) in a guild, ran Naxxramas, Icecrown, and Deathwing together.

I have seriously...

I have never understood, will never understand, why adding the *option* for female Custodes / Space Marines bothers these people at all, let alone to this degree.

Nobody is coming to R63 Marneus Calgar. The characters they know and love will stay the same. It's just more options for more people.

When World of Darkness is good, it's really good.

Personally I love their interpretation of Mages. The idea of Paradox is fascinating and makes a lot of sense as a limitation on their powers. Unfortunately, Mage remains one of their lesser-known systems.

That's exactly it. Some people don't realize that enemies in Dark Souls are hard because they were very carefully designed to be that way.

The "git gud" mentality being applied to block criticism of enemies that are just poorly designed is what I'm talking about.
October 4, 2025 at 5:15 PM
The amount of damage that "git gud" Dark Souls tryhards have done to the gaming community is immeasurable.

Nothing wrong with Dark Souls, either. I'm specifically referring to the mentality that a certain subset of its community has developed and now applies to everything.

Basically. A lot of their steel came from iron sand, and the process of smelting that sand introduced impurities and uneven carbon content, so the folding was to more evenly distribute the carbon throughout the blade.
October 4, 2025 at 1:51 PM
Space Marines getting something like 75% of all new content and 90% of all video games is bad enough, but the Ultramarines are so played out that they are becoming a bad joke.

You can't take a step in 40k without tripping over blue power armor.

I actually *want* to like the UM, because they're Space Fantasy Rome and that should be dope, but I am constitutionally incapable for two reasons:

1 - They've been watered down to the point that they are the most generic of generic marines, and

2 - They are plain insufferable to me at this point.
