Like all his work, it’s super well done with impeccable performances, it just wasn’t my cup of tea. Maybe if I research it I’ll understand; there might be some underlying thing I’m missing.

I may need to rewatch to reaffirm my opinion, but I remember thinking it was too gratuitously grim for me.
