That's interesting. Is it the same for 'loan' and 'borrow' for native German speakers? (I've had various German colleagues over the years asking me to 'borrow them' something).

Well, that was an entertaining rabbit hole. The best I can do is a murky image from eBay (where else?) - apparently the painting is 'Sarah in the Bath' (1958), oil on canvas, in a private collection.

Word was when I was there that the foundations of the chapel are extremely shallow, but that may be entirely apocryphal. (It has yet to fall down, anyway).

When I was doing my PhD, back in the last century, we had something green growing in a bottle of 10% (w/v) SDS. We christened it the 'SDS plant'. A tough little bugger whatever it was.
