I just spent some time on the new photo app, simply called foto, and it was the calmest, most enjoyable time that I have spent scrolling through a photo app in about 5 years. I highly recommend all photographers check it out. I am keeping IG for now, but probably not for much longer.

There were 2 great films about broadcast tv from 2024, Saturday Night and September 5. While they are about 2 very different events, they both deal with the intensity of live tv broadcasting. Both films deserved more award nominations. I just finished the latter & my heart is still pounding.

We watched Flow last night. It's a beautiful story, though intense. Worthy of its award noms.

Our cat Otis watched from the top of the cat tower, then sat in front of the tv, & then watched from under the couch w/ the other two cats. We got the black cat stare all night.

Have you seen it?

This looks like a fantastic exhibit. I wish that I could get to Amsterdam in time to see it.

I took a break to walk around the yard in between office hours with my students. Seeing Spring pushing through was a nice way to clear my head. Heavy rain is coming back tomorrow, but I hope to resume my daily walks this week in between the bursts of rain.

Sing Sing (A24) is about to get a major release. If you have a chance to see it, please do. It's a great story about the power of art and the human spirit. The acting is outstanding and worthy of more award nominations - best picture worthy.

I signed up for a watercolor class at my local community college. My fellow students are librarians, artists, and lovers of travel and flowers. I have found my people. We're all trying to connect and create in an increasingly dark world.
