I wouldn’t mind 2 week half term if where I work did the same. Our students may have siblings in local schools too, I can see that causing problems.

Yes, this half term has definitely been the most stressful, a 2 week break would really help. We don’t get all the holidays off automatically though, we have to book from our leave allowance and have to be back by mid August. I haven’t come across anywhere else that does leave like this.

Week off is at the end of summer term when apart from my A level group most of my lessons will be finished anyway. I can understand the college don’t want to lose a teaching week prior to exams, and wants to be consistent with others in the college group, but as a parent it will be stressful.

The college is local too, so not a different area, but part of a larger college group with other colleges in areas that have one week.

Probably maths tuition so I’d still be teaching.

Yes of course 😀 I probably worded this badly. Really I was just pleased with how much they discovered in their own exploration and all the great questions they were asking.

I will try and PM you once I’ve managed to stop and think, one more week until half term for us and busy planning for assessments next week.

I am lacking time teaching both A level and Core new this year. It’s meant I’ve ended up using a lot of pre existing resources I was given which follow the textbook closely but I feel I’m not preparing them well enough for the style of the exam questions so need to have a rethink at half term.
