Right then, this is the one. I'm all in.

I want to talk with you about libraries, Higher Ed, communications, and LIFE.

As a freelancer I run workshops on marketing, social media and presentation skills: https://www.ned-potter.com/training
The conflict between that, everything *else* Universities stand for usually, yet Universities feeling like they need to embrace GenAI so as not to get left behind or to fail to prepare students for the workforce, lives rent-free in my head.

Ha, good point...

Cos I'm quite specific about what I say about GenAI (you should see the number of draft blog posts I have about it that I've not hit publish on 😄) and I wouldn't say *that*.

And honestly it's a terrible sentence anyway which I don't want attributed to me either way...

Here's the article with the false quote: journals.ala.org/index.php/ru...

Here's my 2013 piece that is on the subject of marketing and mayonnaise but doesn't mention AI at all: www.libraryjournal.com/story/market...

Do I email the editor, try and get in touch with the author, or what..?

Really struggling to find the words about this...

Any industry that was based entirely on compensation-free theft would die if it had to ask for use permission. Of course it would. Up until now, in all of human history, that's been a given.

It's how it *should* be, no?

This is fabulous. Have you ever seen the UK comedian Troy Hawke? He’s like a sort of human version of this.

During early pandemic times when the library first reopened but many people couldn’t travel to it, I did one as a sort of sounds of the library thing and people LOVED it! People said they could finally research again when they put it on etc.

(Doing it was really weird experience tho!)

Oh yeah - there will be no computer generated voices, and no roleplaying, I can promise that... My enthusiasm will be genuine and alternative format info will be provided!

You are not the first to suggest this 😄
