Eh, not quite.This default date is not a COBOL thing. It’s an old ISO standard from 1986 that many systems adopted. I coded in COBOL, from mid-80s for 20+ years on several platforms. Never saw it used. That said, it IS the first place a COBOL programmer would look before they screamed “fraud”.
