Dorky technicalities are sometimes fundamental. The UK gov has announced reviews of ‘Common Frameworks’ (to be done by Easter) and the UK Internal Mkt Act (by summer). There is now a chance to change super complicated and inefficient arrangements that define how the UK is governed after Brexit. 1

Feels quite profound to live through the global extinction of a bird in your own region. Last one was the Great Auk about 170 years ago. I remember tourists travelling to see Slender-billed Curlews a few hours flight from London; trip reports & photos in the magazines.
