Update: During an extensive independent review of GISS & NSSTC ending in Dec 2024 it was concluded that it would cost NASA & GSA much more to terminate the current GISS lease While also doing massive damage to ongoing research going on. This move won't safe anyone anything. Quite the contrary.

It's a curious situation given the broader trends in climate science in the US today. Is it really the case that Carbon Dioxide Removal (CDR) research is considered viable, while climate change research itself isn't?
