[3/5] So it's notable that @sciencebasedtargets.org's new #netzero standard requires FIs to cease both project AND corporate-level finance/insurance activities linked to FF expansion. However, while project finance must be immediately addressed, corporate-level finance must only be ceased by 2030.

The primary sponsors of the VA & IL bills are "ALEC" members. ALEC (working w Big Oil) has played a major, ongoing role pushing FF anti-protest bills across the country.

The MT bill sponsor does not have known ALEC connections, but the bill has major support from the O&G industry and telecom. (3/4)

DOE's new analysis uses the GCAM model to estimate how societal emissions, broadly, are affected by incremental #LNG volumes. It shows that LNG competes more with renewable energy & efficiency improvements than coal (for all evaluated scenarios).
