Pretty much all affordability discourse could benefit from just posting this chart.

If you're in the better off America, all the luxury goods you want in excess are for the most part much cheaper. If you're in the poorer America, most of the shit you need to live/grow is more expensive.

Well said!
Listen Kaine, Hassan, King, Cortez-Masto, Durbin, Shaheen, Rosen, and Fetterman. You're NOT gonna take away my 2025 election joy. We voted in that election for folks to FIGHT for us. That doesn't include YOU.

YOU are what we voted AGAINST last Tuesday. So I'm gonna hang on to that.

I'm furious at the Democratic senators who caved.

But don't forget who put us in this position and who is STILL trying to take away SNAP benefits. Don't let the Trump administration and the Republicans who have sided with them the whole time off the hook.
Starting now: Press conference announcing a motion for a temporary restraining order challenging USDA's unlawful attempt to withhold SNAP benefits, featuring Attorneys General of CA, NY, MN, NJ and leaders from City Harvest, Food Action Research Center and No Kid Hungry.

*I* would be a better senator than Durbin.
Whoa -- Sen. Durbin went to up Leader Thune during the vote last night to tell him that on the shutdown vote and ACA promise that "8 of us are sticking our neck out that you're going to keep your word. I hope you will. He said 'I assure you I will,'" Durbin says just now

BREAKING: We won!

Today the 3rd Circuit Court ordered the @post-gazette.com to restore our contract it illegally tore up 5 years ago. That’s our health care, PTO, right to a 40-hr. work week, short-term disability and so much more we’ve struck for 3+ years.

While people are going without food, Trump is busy pardoning people who tried to overthrow democracy.

"Trump's move is largely symbolic, however, since pardons only apply to federal crimes and all of the recipients were charged by state-level prosecutors only."

He also pardons his former White House chief of staff, Mark Meadows in a proclamation vowing to "end a grave national injustice".

There will be another 60 vote Friday* on the garbage shutdown deal. If we can convince just one Senator from the 52 republicans and 8 Dems that voted yes to flip, we could still stop this. Please jump on the phone today, call them, and share this widely.

*If all goes by the regular schedule

In Florida and many other states, you need to be registered with a party to vote in the primary, and the primaries are where we can make a real difference in districts that usually lean D.

Don't leave the party in Florida. Keep your primary votes and USE THEM WELL.
Right, the answer isn't to abandon the party to these weasels.

The answer is to flood the party with people who will take it over and transform it.
Hey, a lot of people are talking about changing affiliation from Democratic to Independent.

Let me tell you why you shouldn’t do that in Colorado.

One of the main ways to get a primary challenge candidate on a ballot is to caucus for your party. You need to be registered as a Dem to caucus.

The Senate deal is a colossal mistake and I will vociferously oppose it.

My neighbors are counting on me to stand up for them. They deserve better than a health care crisis inflicted on them by Trump and Republicans to fund tax breaks for the ultra wealthy. Can’t say it enough!

i think this is key. taking the deal would amount to taking the blame. it would turn a clear political victory into an unambiguous defeat.
If the Dems blink after all of this, for a deal that all but ensures no ACA subsidies in 2026 anyway, then what was the purpose of letting the shutdown go for 40 days in the first place?

Do NOT twist the sense here. What has been happening in Gaza is horrific. I don't see this clip minimizing the genocide in Gaza, and I am not minimizing it.

Sudan is even worse.
"They're killing everyone that moves."
My God.
“We're seeing a level of proliferation of bodies & body piles from space that's unlike anything I've ever seen…”

Human rights investigator Nathaniel Raymond explains how more people could be killed within a week in Sudan, compared to the past two years in Gaza.

I wrote this a year ago. I wrote about Trump’s campaign of raci anxiety when he won the first time as did others. Look to see who is being platformed in this America that many of us predicted, and who has been disappeared. That will reveal a lot about this moment and what power wants us to believe.

I just received an email from a SNAP recipient I spoke to for my story who lives in a state where full benefits came through on Friday in a full panic about what USDA means when it tells states to "undo" work fulfilling full benefits. This is how broken this government is. I wish I had any answers.
