On this #IndigenousPeoplesDay we are looking back to a beautiful event the Pokagon Band of Potawatomi hosted in the spring.

Potawatomi and Gaeltacht community members came together for music, a traditional meal, and to discuss experiences in preserving and revitalizing language. (1/2)

It was a joy to host sean-nós singer Gearóidín Breathnach at Notre Dame last week!

She met students in Irish language and poetry classes, visited with citizens of the Pokagon Band of Potawatomi, and discussed the importance and richness of oral traditions.

She read from her newest collection, “Egg/Shell,” and discussed identity, playing with clichés, and how to write about heartbreak with lightness and beauty.
